Thing 6:Blog Readers

May 28, 2009

For some reason this Thing took more time for me to input than it apparently should have done. This is a new feature for me to do more than just scan someone’s blog for information…that at work there are so many useful blogs that it takes collating them!
Glad to get in step with this.
Some family members work abroad and it is important to keep up on the breaking news in their area…having a quick access daily has been time consuming, this feature makes it much faster. Appreciate it.

Thing4:More Flickr

May 19, 2009

This was a very fun thing, I loved doing the pictures and the lettering. All this would be very helpful in setting up presentations for the library and for patrons who are into establishing themselves in business. I’m not used to working with such a range of applications and am hoping to get back to this and experiment with more of the modalities.
I have found that some of my signage is a bit boring, and this will perk it up markedly
I have a friend that does photoshop and I’ve been in awe…no wonder it looks like so much fun. Thanks for the introduction.

Flickr is great fun, but some info came out vertically instead of horizontally…is there a way to flip it? Could use a few more directives in the presentation.
Flikr will be great for flyers, children’s materials, letterheads…seems the options are endless. I’ve already used it for a special project.

Uploaded Nagano City, Japan where we had lived for 16 years…brought back great memories and updates. This site could be addicting, my fellow librarians here have all been showing off what they have found on their sites. One patron was asking for information on US travel and we pulled up some of the cities he would visit to show pictures and information.
Have not had the opportunity to create a Flickr account yet, but it looks like a great opportunity to work with photos.

Learning 2.0 Thing 2

May 16, 2009

Glad to be part of Library 2.0 and the fascinating possibilities of the project.  Our library is small at present but expanding rapidly and this program should be helpful for the staff and also for our patrons.

The groundwork done to prepare and share this program is very much appreciated.

Thing 1:Setting up the blog

May 14, 2009

My blog is Bibliophilia4us. I started with Blogger but was running into confusion with my other Google accounts so decided to go with Word Press and found it worked out well. Hope this is not a problem.

Glad to get to share with you, and am looking forward to learning the 23 Things.
On a personal note, is anyone out there interested in English mysteries?
